The 2022/2023 U11A team will focus on teaching young players a team approach to playing the game of Hockey.  Developing the skills needed to achieve defensive structure and offensive creativity will be at the heart of this season's efforts.  In addition, fostering traits such as determination and accountability will be central themes both on and off the ice.

This season will see the U11A team attend three tournaments.

  1. October 25 - 27 - Silver Stick Tournament - Cobourg, Ontario
  2. January 20 - 22 - Winter Classic - Ottawa, Ontario
  3. February 3 - 5 - KAMHA Tournament Series - Kingston, Ontario

When budgeting for Rep Hockey the following costs should be considered:
  1. The base house league fee is $780
  2. The rep fee surcharge will be approximately $1075
  3. Jerseys (Home and Away) will total $300
  4. Helmets, pants, and gloves must match the Kingston Canadian's colours.  You may have to purchase matching equipment if you do not have this already
  5. Team fees.  Items such as tournament entry fees, busses, practice jerseys, water bottles, and team bonding activities are all included in the team's budget.  Estimates of these expenses are calculated and a per player team fee is charged.  These fees can range from $800 to $1200.
  6. Hotels for tournament weekends and meals when out of town are additional expenses to be considered.
Some fundraising takes place throughout the season.  This often decreases the team fees.

Although the cost of rep hockey can be high, I firmly believe that the experiences had and lessons learned are more than worth the expense.

Best of luck to all those who accept the challenge of trying out for the U11A Kingston Candians.
