President Message - OHF New Player Movement
Hello KAMHA Members,

I hope everyone has enjoyed the Holidays with their family and friends. By now everyone has seen or heard of the OHF announcement on the new player movement regulations (open borders) that will be implemented for the 2025-2026 season.

We have received the same information that has been published by OHF and are working closely with the OMHA on how our Rep teams and tryouts will be affected for the upcoming tryouts in the Spring. Several of our policies will be affected by the change and our executive is working on updating them in the coming months.

The New Player Movement has challenged KAMHA's executive on taking on the task of improving our programming, not only at the Rep level, but also at the House League level to ensure that KAMHA is the association of choice in Kingston and surrounding areas to develop your hockey skills.

The recent shift to open borders and unrestricted player movement has provided the KAMHA leadership team with a unique opportunity to step back, assess our programming, and refine our approach. This allows us to enhance our development model, introduce new pillars of growth, and ultimately provide greater value to our membership. Our goal is clear: to become the destination of choice for players and families alike.

I do ask that you be patient as we prepare, update and add new policies to the ever changing world of minor hockey which we intend to be available on our website prior to the 2025-2026 tryout season.
