2025 Spring Evaluations (Tryouts) Information
A lot of changes are happening and we are provided new information on a weekly basis from OHF and OMHA, which unfortunately means that KAMHA needs to change and adapt. Please make sure you follow our website to ensure that you have all the updated information prior to attending our Evaluations in the Spring

*This is considered a working document and will be updated on a regular basis.

OHF has changed the wording and when it comes to tryouts and will now be referred to as Evaluations. Moving forward, when KAMHA refers to Evaluations it means Tryouts. Below is the most up to date information you need to attend KAMHA's Spring Evaluations:

Registration:

  • If you are having trouble with the online registration please contact our registrar Bonnie Denna at [email protected]
  • The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) mandated that Evaluations (tryouts) registration now be completed through your Hockey Canada account (Spordle). This information was only recently confirmed by OHF.
  • All players interested in attending KAMHA's Evaluations MUST register prior to stepping onto the ice in order to participate and be considered for a team.
  • Registration for KAMHA Evaluations allows players to until they are selected or released at that particular level. (ex. If a player skates at KAMHA AA Rep Evaluation and is unsuccessful, they are able to skate at the KAMHA A Rep Evaluation without having to register again or pay additional costs for those skates.)
  • Under no circumstances will players be allowed to attend Evaluations and be on the ice if they have not registered and paid for Evaluations online through Spordle.
  • If you are injured and would like to be considered for a team, you must still register and pay for Evaluations, even if you are not able to participate at any ice sessions.
  • Please ensure that you are able to log into your Spordle account prior to attending Evaluations and that your profile is up to date. If you are not registered through Sprodle you will not be allowed to attend KAMHA Evaluations
  • With open borders, all players in the surrounding area are welcome to attend Evaluations for a KAMHA Rep team.
  • There will be no refunds if players decide not to attend Evaluations or decide to not complete Evaluations. Refunds will only be issued for medical reasons and must complete our refund form by clicking here
  • OMHA has indicated that registration for Evaluations cannot open prior to April 2nd, unless we are told otherwise
  • The link to register for Evaluations will be live on April 2nd, Please Click Here to Register
  • As per OHF, Permission to skate (PTS) or releases are no longer required in order to attend Evaluations outside of KAMHA.
  • If you have any outstanding balances owed to KAMHA from the past season, you will not be allowed to attend Evaluations for KAMHA or any other Association until you have settled all outstanding balances.

 Evaluations:

  • Evaluations dates and times are now posted, but are subject to change. So please ensure you are always looking at our website
  • This year all ages from U9MD to U18 will happen during the Spring. At this point, KAMHA had decided that we will not have a U8MD team, but if that changes we will hold those Evaluations in the Fall.
  • U9MD Evaluations will Start on April 11th
  • U10AA to U13AA Evaluations will start on April 26th
  • U14AA to U18AA Evaluations will start on April 28th
  • U10A to U13A Evaluations will start on May 3rd
  • U14A to U18A Evaluations will start on May 5th
  • U16BB and U18BB Evaluations will start on May 12th
  • As per OHF we are only allowed to have the same teams for the upcoming season that we had this past season and will not be able to create new teams regardless of the number of players we have attending our Evaluations. The teams we currently have will move up
  • In the divisions where KAMHA will have two (2) A teams, a Red and White, the tryouts will be merged and there will not be separate skates. Both teams will be selected and their offers of commitment will be presented at the same time. Players will not be allowed to choose which team they want to play for, Red or White.
  • Players are not guaranteed any number of skates or exhibition games during Evaluations at any level.
  • Players must be registered for Evaluations and attend at minimum one (1) ice time to be considered for any of KAMHA's Rep team.

Offers of Commitment:

  • Different from years past, when coaches offer a spot on a team, the player will receive a link to register from Spordle for the season that day and will have until noon the next day to register and accept the spot. If they do not register within the time frame specified, the Offer of Commitment may be rescinded by the coach.
  • As players are only allowed to register with one (1) team/Association, once they register it will mean that they have accepted their Offer of Commitment and all other offers will be considered null and void.
  • An Offer of Commitment will only be considered accepted once the player has registered through the link provided by Spordle. Verbal or paper commitments will not be accepted.
  • The Fee for playing Rep Hockey with KAMHA for the upcoming season is $2,650

Members of the KAMHA Executive are volunteers, yet they are working diligently to sort out the new changes in process. We ask that everyone be patient and respectful towards all our volunteers as we navigate to update our process and policies during this new era of minor hockey in Ontario.

More information will come out closer to the Evaluation dates on how information will be communicated during the Evaluation process as well as any need to know information on what to do and what is needed during Evaluations

OHF has made it very clear that tampering and/or soliciting is strictly prohibited, and will carry very harsh penalties, both personally and for the association. Tampering will be considered reaching out to players of other associations encouraging them to come to our organization. It will also include players and parents speaking directly to coaches to either ask what their plans are for next season or talking to coaches in other organizations persuading them to come to our association. Speaking directly with other families asking them to come to KAMHA will also be considered tampering. Please avoid any communications with the coaches, any questions you may have about KAMHA Evaluation registration may be directed to our registrar or administrator and any questions about the Evaluation process can be directed to our VP of Rep, Rep Convenor and or our President and we will answer you as soon as possible.
