KAMHA is pleased to announce the following AA/A coaches for the upcoming 2021/2022 season



U10A - TBA
U10AA - Ryan  Seymour

U11A - Darren McCaugherty
U11AA - Nate Lollar

U12A - Ash Freeland
U12AA - Phil Smith

U18AA - Brian Hulton

Fall Tryout Dates And Information:


OMHA has released tryout dates for the fall and they are as follows:



  • General
    • No on-ice activity is permitted until Tuesday, September 7, 2021
    • Sanctioned Tournaments are permitted to start on October 8, 2021
    • All minor hockey teams must be engaged in meaningful hockey on March 1, 2022
    • Playing an age group up:
      • The OMHA has required associations to decide on and post a player policy for playing in an older age group. KAMHA’s policy is as follows:

        • Playing in an older age group only applies at the AA level
        • Determination is based on the coach and/or their independent evaluators AND must be confirmed by KAMHA evaluators
        • Due to the high demand for Representative Programming, no AA team will be permitted to carry more then 1 (one) underage player
        • This policy may be amended for exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the KAMHA executive.
  • U12 and above
    • AAA Tryouts begin September 10, 2021 (7 days)
    • AA Tryouts begin September 17, 2021 (7 days)
    • A and below Tryouts begin September 21, 2021 (7 days)
  • U10 & U11
    • The Hockey Canada U11 Pathway will be fully implemented for the 2021-22 season
    • U10 & U11 must adhere to OHF Playing regulation which can be found HERE
    • Prep Phase starts September 7th, 2021 (6 days)
    • AAA Tryouts begin September 13, 2021 (7 days)
      • AAA Development Phase Begins September 20, 2021 (minimum 7 days)
    • AA Tryouts begin September 20, 2021 (7 days)
      • AA Development Phase Begins September 27, 2021 (minimum 7 days)
    • A and below Tryouts begin September 27, 2021 (7 days)
      • A and below Development Phase begins October 4th (minimum 7 days)
  • U9 and Below
    • An amendment to OHF Playing Regulation C4 was passed, which resulted in the removal of all competitive categories of hockey (AAA, AA, A, B, BB, C, CC, D) for U9 and below. This means the elimination of Representative hockey at U9 (formerly Novice).
    • U7 and U9 must adhere to OHF Playing Regulation
    • Important dates:
      • Prep Phase Begins September 7, 2021
      • Evaluation Phase Begins September 13, 2021
      • Development Phase Begins September 20, 2021
    • The KAMHA executive will be preparing a developmental program and will share closer to the start of the season.
