Well, how can we beat this experience? Some players/families on this team have now played in their very first Rep team Tournament. Some have had more experience. Some are with us in Spirit. As a parent I find away tournaments really bring the team together and even more bonding happens between players and parents.

This team started their first game against George Bell. In good fashion we had the first goal by Zane Reid with a long-range high shot goal! George Bell hit us back in 9 seconds to tie it up. Ethan Collins scored with Sebastian Millar passing the puck with a perfect play. Then Jumbo Joe made a breakaway goal! George Bell tried to score but Brody Johnson made A BIG SAVE! NO GOAL HE SAID! Sebastian made his own Breakaway to show us how to put that puck in the net scoring another goal! George Bell tried to put it in our net, but like Brody said, it wasn't gonna happen keeping the score at 4-1. We got a penalty for being too BIG and than Nathan Marrison gets a goal! Yep, while we are shorthanded! George Bell tried again with a breakaway towards our net and Brody still stops it! Then we show them how to pass and score. With a pass from Jumbo Joe to Beckham to Zane and IN THAT NET! Turn over won by Trent Rhodes at their Blue line. Followed by a pass to Jaxon Campbell who shelfed it from the right wing! Kingston killed a penalty in the last two minutes of the game. 7-1 for Kingston! And this my folks, was only Game 1 of 5.

Now with every tournament it should come with some lessons learned. What did the team learn this time? When coach gives a curfew…. It is for a reason. Our first morning game on Saturday…. Lets just say……lessons learned.  We even had some parents learning essentials to travel with (like air fryers 😉). Lots of fun had by all. And this is exactly how the tournament was WON. ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL - CHAMPIONS
